Mid-Year Resolutions

We've all heard of them.  Probably all of us have made many of them.  Whether it's loose 10 lbs., get fit, or learn a new skill, we have perfected the art of making New Year's Resolutions, with every intention to keep them.  And then, somewhere around the end of January-to the beginning of February, life gets in the way, and all our good intentions fade away as we revert to the old, comfortable way of doing things.

"Next year," we tell ourselves, "I'll run that marathon."  Or get closer to God.  Or read through the Bible.  Or... well you get the picture.  But the next year comes and we do the same thing all over again, and it becomes an endless cycle of procrastination and - dare I say - laziness.

We are now almost half way through the year 2012.  Our resolutions probably died months ago.  Our good intentions have become nothing more than a memory in the past, if they're even that much.

We must not waste time, wandering mindlessly through life, hoping that "one day" we will do all that we said we we're going to do.  Our time on this earth is limited, we are like a flower that is there one day and the next is faded away.  Let us embrace the time we have by living life to the fullest.

Be courageous.  Be ambitious.  Be diligent.

Perhaps it is the time to make some new resolutions... "Mid-Year Resolutions," if you will.  And maybe this time we could try something new, and not let those resolutions die.

Don't put off for tomorrow what you could be doing today.

Live life fully... God created you to.

Wherefore he saith, Awake thou that sleepest, and arise from the dead, and Christ shall give thee light.  See then that ye walk circumspectly, not as fools, but as wise, Redeeming the time, because the days are evil.
