Life Unfolding: A Birthday Surprise

Back in early April, my Marmee's friend, Melissa came to MaKenna and I and asked if we would help her plan a surprise birthday party for my Marmee. Of course we said yes! Then began the semi-stressful, ultra-fun times that come with planning a surprise party - along with the secrets, awkward silences when she asked us questions, similes, giggles... you get the picture!

Fast Foreword to May 23... Melissa had invited us over for dinner, little did my mother know that she was about to get the surprise of her life! As she walked in the door, and was bombarded by 40+ friends we all shouted surprise (what else do you do at a surprise party?? 8] )... But that wasn't all! The even bigger surprise came when her best friend, Kimi came around the corner. Because she lives in Alabama, they don't get to see each other very often. It worked out perfectly that she was coming down to Florida for FPEA Homeschool Convention that weekend and was able to be there for the party!

We had a wonderful time fellow-shipping with our dear friends... talking late into the night (literally, we didn't leave till after 11 o'clock!) and eating the most delicious food!
